Q. 3 things that jesus did
Asked by matt - Thu Dec 4 17:02:25 2008 - - 7 Answers - 2 Comments

A. Just three? lol Well, anyways... 1. He loved you enough to die for you on the cross even though he never did anything to deserve such a cruel and painful death. 2. He left the glory, power and comfort of Heaven to come down to this wretched world in order to save us from the fire in Hell. 3. He rose from the grave and is seated at the right hand of Almighty Father in Heaven and is waiting for you to talk to him today. :) He did all that he did for one reason. Because he loved you. And he most definitely still does. :) Jesus loves you!

How did Jesus effect the history of the Roman Civilization?
Q. The actual question is "How did a historical person affect the history of his/her civilization?" This is for ancient history class and I chose Jesus. Any ideas?

A. Hello, Certainly not adversely as some think. The Western Empire lasted another 400 years and the Eastern Empire 1400 years. Don't forget the Republic itself fell 50 years before the birth of Christ. No other Empire in history has lastes as long a Rome. Cheers, Michael Kelly

What would Jesus say about the factors that lead to immigration?
Q. I am neither Christian nor non-Christian. My question is not so much about "Jesus" as it is about spirituality in general in the US. Do you feel the popular prevailing views on immigration are balanced? Are they compassionate? What would the world's great spiritual leaders have to say about the inequalities that lead to lack of opportunity in our neighboring countries; as well as to genocide, poverty, and infant mortality? Finally, what is the role of the individual in all of this? Of course anyone who wants to can answer, but preference given to rational, balanced answers. addendum: not so much asking from a political standpoint, but from one of the heart- I have been bombarded lately with Hispanic-bashing messages from folks who really… [cont.]

A. in my opinion this goes far beyond anyone's beliefs . our humane nature should be enough to understand that we need to help each other and to understand how is it that we cannot ignore the real reasons behind this issue forever . i truly believe that if we really put ourselves in the shoes of those who had to come to America and would had never been allowed to do it " the right way " America would had given them what they want long ago . i know America cannot help everyone on this world but this is not excuse to ignore those who already live here and that in fact had proven to be hard workers , nice people and many times good soldiers . undocumented immigrants had been essencial in all the latest American wars . i think we should… [cont.]

How come the Jews and Muslims are able to worship God directly without going through Jesus?
Q. The Jews rejected Jesus outright, the Muslims regarded Jesus as a mere human prophet. If what Jesus said in the New Testament is true, the Jews and the Muslims would never be able to connect with God on a spiritual level through prayers and worship because Jesus Christ is left out of the picture. But it seem that the Jews and the Muslims are doing fine on that aspect. The more I think about it, the more confused I get.

A. Jesus did say, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If Jesus was deluded, then Christianity loses its basis. If Jesus was correct (as I do believe), then Islam and Judaism are in fact not following the only pathway to God the Father.

What type of vehicle did jesus travel around in?
Q. Jesus was an itinerant preacher. So he probably ended up travelling considerable distances. Do you think he had some kind of 2000 year ago bus to take his disciples around in. Of course 2000 years ago it wouldn't be motorized - unless Jesus summoned up one of his miracles. So I am supposing it was some sort of cart and some horses or oxen. What are your thoughts?

A. It was a Honda. The Bible clearly states that "Jesus and the disciples were in one Accord."

Why did Jesus say to a religious expert You must be born again to see and enter the Kingdom of God?
Q. A lot of people think they can just choose to be Christian or exchange to Christianity, strange, seems different to Jesus`s message. Is it as easy as that? Seems Jesus shared a spiritual gospel and today a social gospel?
Asked by Jem M - Tue May 12 11:49:41 2009 - - 18 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Everything Jesus said was a word game. Being born again in Jesus-speak was the equivalent of "un-learning what you have learned" in Yoda-speak. It's the same as Neo learning to bend the rules of the Matrix. He didn't mean you have to be re-born. He mean that in order to see what he was talking about, you had to learn to understand the world differently. Unfortunately, I don't think he realized that 2000 years later, there'd be people talking to invisible men in his name, dunking each other under water, eating crackers called his body, and drinking wine called his blood... and bombing abortion clinics and beating gay people until they died, all because this one doesn't see the world the way that one does.

Because the second coming is going to be in the consciousness of mankind not some physical being coming to save our ass.The mind that was in Christ Jesus, Jesus told us to look within for the presence of God, be=cause at about age 28 he found the Christ Spirit within himself and then tried to tell us how we too could do the same and even more..So far most Christian prefer to believe that he died for our sins and they ar ejust waiting and don't really have to do mush more. How ever the second coming isn't going to happen until we (Mankind) get it through our thick skulls that we must start working with those principles that he gave us. How did people count the years before Jesus?
Q. I know that now we calll it BC, for instance BC 431. But what was the reference before Jesus came, because at that time they obviously had no idea that he would be born on the Earth 431 years later. Does anyone know how they counted years?
Asked by The Man - Sat Dec 8 13:59:07 2007 - - 5 Answers - 1 Comments

A. This question has been asked many times here to my knowledge. It is obvious that they did not use 'BC' - that didn't come into usage until sometime in the 4th century 'AD' How they counted depends on the culture they lived/live in. The Romans counted 'AUC' - 'From the founding of the City'. Today, Jews and Muslims use different calendars - one is somewhere in the 5000s, the other in the 1400s. The Chinese have yet another calendar. For all I know the Bushmen of the Kalahari have yet another. We must learn not to be so Western-Christian oriented. For that reason I prefer the usages 'B'(efore) and 'A'(fter) C(ommon) E(ra) in place of BC and AD.

A. There is not one single mention of Jesus in the entire Roman record - that is right - not one!!! At the same time as he was supposed to have been around there were a number of Jews claiming to be the messiah - all of whom are well recorded!! He was supposed to have been a huge problem to the Romans and produced wonderful miracles but still not one contemporary record? Even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death!! At best he was an amalgam of those others!!

Asked by wha? - Wed Dec 24 16:49:03 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. As one who follows the Messiah, one should not pick a particular holiday just to help others. As a believer in the Messiah, we should help people when ever we get a chance, that s if your time permits you to help others and if your financially capable. In regards to Christmas, this Holiday is purely pagan. This Christmas holiday is no where mentioned in the Holy Scriptures (The Bible) 1.Jesus (Yeshua) his real name in Hebrew cannot be supported through scripture as him being born on December 25 2. A follower of the Messiah, one should never observe him through a tree that is decked out with silver and gold trimmings, just like it was mentioned in Jeremiah 10:3-4 (King James) Verse 3: For the customs of the people… [cont.]

A. Because Jesus Christ fulfilled the Old Testament prophesies. Mohammad fulfilled all the things God said not to do and denies the true sacrifice God provided for the forgiveness of sins.

Does Jesus fail to correct violent interpretation of the bible because it is correct interpretation?
Q. Or does he fail to correct all misinterpretation because he simply doesn't exist? When someone like david Koresh, or Jim Jones or Fred Phelps clearly focuses on the violent aspects of the bible, doesn't Jesus or God have a moral obligation to steer them away from misinterpretation?

A. God could make everyone worship him if He wanted to couldn't he, but that would remove everyone's free choice. You can't take the misgivings of some and ridicule God for not making them do what is right unless you do it accross the board and remove everyone's free will to do what they want.

How was Jesus/son fully god on this earth if he had to abide by the will of the father?
Q. Also, doesnt it sound as if the son and father are acting separately on this earth (father > son, as son has to obey the father's will). Yet, if both of them are god, then Christianity is polytheistic. If the son and father were acting in separate ways on this earth (yet both of them were god), then what do Christians mean when they say "they are not the same, but the same in essence"? How was Jesus fully god and fully human on this earth?

A. We did gain direct access to God when Christ died at Calvary. Christ is our High Priest and advocate in heaven. Heb. 2:17, 18 17 Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation (satisfying God's wrath) for the sins of the people. 18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid (have sympathy) those who are tempted.
