Q. I do realize most Jews, accept Messianic Jews, do not accept Jesus as the Messiah. But who exactly is the Messiah according to the Jews, is the Messiah also God and if not what is the relationship of the Messiah to God? According to Jews, what is the purpose of a Messiah?

A. We do not believe that the Messiah will be a deity or supernatural in any way. We simply believe that he will fulfill the various prophecies as an unusually gifted human being. We believe that it is the Messiah that will usher in the World to Come. However, we believe that it will be an earthly place, not a "heaven."
